This is a training camp open for all, also outside Snättringe. The trainings provided will be in full difficulty.

Please enter as soon as you can, it makes it easier for us, and probably cheaper for you when you buy your travel tickets!

Programme:

Welcome to SSK Training Camp in Portugal. The plan is to get away from the cold and the snow and spend some time in sunny Iberia. Rough plan is:

• Fredag 9th of Februay - fly to Iberia

• 9-13th compete in Portugal O Meeting (internationally known for being full of scandi people, surely you know about it)

• 13th-18th possibility to stay a bit longer in portuguese terrain, trainings in NAOM area and possibility to enter on the saturday races of NAOM

• Söndag 18th of February - fly back to Sverige

Accommodations

The ideal plan is to stay all of us in a house with different bed options (see table below).

We have checked different accommodations including some villas and some houses with bunk beds, to be able to book the best place (cheap and close to competition) we need a rough number of people interested to book for the best option. Sign up soon!

Flight/travel there back:

There are several ways to travel to Portugal, but the way we have looked at is via flight. As tickets are organised by yourself, you are very welcome to travel the way you find best (doesn't have to be via flight).

Flight prices will be paid by your own, to ease the logistics (with personal details, etc) and confirmation from people. As prices may increase, we recommend that as soon as you know you are coming, book the flight asap. (Ryanair Stockholm Arlanda - Porto)

The plan we have looked at is flying in on the Friday 9th and coming back on the Sunday 18th, as some of you might want to fly earlier, we have seen there is an option to fly back on the Friday 16th. These are the prices at the moment for each flight - only hand luggage (no cabin bag):

• Fredag 9th - 400,19 kr

• Fredag 16th - 560,36 kr

• Söndag 18th - 411,19 kr

Travel during the time there: 

Travel by renting cars.

We need to book cars to travel from/to the airport and during the stay in Portugal. Depending on when people are leaving there could be less cars needed but ideally all of you should be flying on the same day to book directly from the airport.

How we eat:

Houses available provide stove and everything needed to cook. Food should be bought in local stores (no Mercadona in Portugal, but there is Pingo Doce, oh yeah).

We divide into food teams, each food team plans a meal and cooks for everyone.

Race entries (POM):

To enter the competitions, POM uses their own Portuguese system: Orioasis, in their website you can check the instructions on how to enter. The most important part is that  if you are signing up for Elite classes, to provide your iof number, in order to be considered for WRE points.

Entry deadline with discount ends on the 26th of January. The next and last entry deadline is 29th of January.

Prices: 

Day 0: Sprint relay  5€

Day 1: Night sprint is 13€

Day 1-4: Rest of courses is 16€ per race

Model event 5€ (available 8th-13th)

NAOM (Norte Alentejano O Meeting)

Days after POM and before NAOM there is the possibility to train in NAOM areas. Nice terrais, you won’t regret! Possibility to buy maps according to what  and how much you want to train, there is plenty of possibilities.

For the people joining NAOM for the second part of the trip, there will be the possibility to enter on the Saturday races: middle distance and sprint (take into account this latter one is WRE). More info incoming (contact Flavio+Simon for NAOM details).

Entries for NAOM are done via the same Portuguese system: Orioasis. Costs are 9€ discount, maximum 13.50€ / for Middle and 7€ discount, 10.50€ WRE Sprint. (discount entry deadline 9th of February / last entry deadline 12th of February).

Sunday race is not possible to enter as flight is early on Sunday and drive to airport is approx 3h (plus returning cars, etc).

Rough Estimate of trip

• 9th-13th - POM Trip

Rough total price per person: 250€/person (calculated for an estimation for 10 people including cheap flights, accommodation and entries, not included food and car reservation)

The price is calculated only for POM 9-13th. Depending on people joining and until when, a second accomodation and option for extra training would be searched. 

• Including NAOM

As there has been an interest in continuing the trip to Norte Alentejano in Portugal, the second part of the trip is to continue the vacations in the rocky terrains in NAOM Competition Area (Marvao and Castelo de Vide). Some of you have already mentioned you won’t be joining for this, as you have other plans/join other competitions with your own non-skandi clubs, but this terrain will get you thrilled.

Potential house is 931€ (117€/person if you are 8 - thus, depending on people interested could be more or less per person) 

Total average including NAOM (not including entries): 370€/person (not including car renting + gas, neither food or map trainings after POM before MOM).
